During the preparations for Chhath Puja on the banks of the Yamuna river in Shaheen Bagh, Delhi, a body was found floating in a rotten condition. Local residents engaged in making ghats and preparing for the festival saw the body floating in the river and informed the police. He said that the police received information about the body in Okhla Barrage under the Kalandi Kunj bridge on Thursday morning. The body had a Rudraksha garland around its neck and wrist.
The police said that he was later identified as Chokla Srinivas, a resident of Karimnagar, Telangana. The officer said that the body was completely rotten, it seemed to be 10-15 days old.
6 people drowned in Bihar, three died
At the same time, on the occasion of Chhath Puja Mahaparva in Bihar, six people drowned while bathing in the Son river in Tilauthu and Dinara police station areas of Rohtas, in which three have died. This accident has created an atmosphere of mourning in the entire area. The recent incident took place in Tilauthu police station area. Here Pintu Yadav (35 years), Sukhadi Yadav (40 years), Bablu Kumar (12 years), and Vikas Yadav (25 years), residents of Pathra, drowned while bathing in the Son River.
The second incident occurred in Pipra of Dinara police station area. Here Ayush Kumar (18 years), son of Ramji Singh, and Abhishek Kumar (22 years), son of late Rakesh Singh of Turki village of Bhanas police station area, drowned in the Son River. This tragic incident has shaken the entire area. There is an atmosphere of mourning among the family members and grief prevails in the entire area. This tragedy has made the happiness of Chhath Puja Mahaparva sad.
