A three-storey house collapsed in Bapa Nagar area of Karol Bagh, Delhi on Wednesday. In this accident, about six to seven people were buried under the debris. On receiving the information, the fire brigade and NDRF teams reached the spot and started relief and rescue work. So far three bodies have been removed from the debris. Others are being searched. It is being told that more than 20 people were present inside the house at the time of the accident. According to the local people, first there was a loud explosion and the whole house collapsed in no time. Due to this, other houses nearby were also damaged.
At the time of the accident, the people nearby felt the tremors of the earthquake. This caused panic among the people. According to the fire brigade officials, the call of the accident came at around 9 am. On receiving the information, five fire brigade vehicles were dispatched to the spot. Immediately the NDRF was also informed about the matter. After this, the police, fire brigade and NDRF teams started the work of removing the debris. According to officials, three bodies have been pulled out from the debris so far, while others are being searched for.
The house was in dilapidated condition
According to local people, this house was very old and was in dilapidated condition. Fire Brigade Director Atul Garg said that a large part of this house has collapsed. More than half a dozen people are feared to be buried under the debris. So far three bodies have been pulled out in the rescue operation. Ambulances have also been arranged to take the people buried under the debris to the hospital. Let us tell you that due to the rain in Delhi, many houses have collapsed at different places so far.
Atishi expressed grief
Delhi’s future Chief Minister Atishi expressed grief over the Karol Bagh accident and the information of many people being buried in it. She said that as soon as she got the information, she spoke to the District Magistrate and asked to provide all possible relief to the victims. She told that she has also spoken to the Mayor of Delhi Municipal Corporation regarding this accident.
She said that there has been a lot of rain this year. In such a situation, the possibility of such accidents is always there. He urged the people of Delhi to immediately inform the administration and the corporation if there is a possibility of an accident in any house.
