Delhi: Anti Corruption Branch arrested 47 people for fake pharmacy registration in Delhi

Another big scam has been exposed in the national capital Delhi. Delhi Anti Corruption Branch has busted a fake pharmacy registration racket. A case of illegal registration of thousands of pharmacists has come to light. The big thing is that a total of 47 people have been arrested on charges of this scam. According to the information, this is being told to be a scam of the time of Arvind Kejriwal government.

Total 47 people including former registrar and clerk arrested

According to the information, under this scam, thousands of pharmacists were illegally registered on the basis of fake documents. Online registration work was assigned to a private firm named VMC without proper tender process. Many brokers, college employees and printing shop owners are involved in the scam. Illegal registrations were done by preparing fake diplomas and certificates. A total of 47 people including former registrar and clerk have been arrested in the case.

What has been found out so far?

  • 1. A total of 4928 fake registrations were done, 35 fake pharmacists arrested in preliminary investigation.
  • 2. Online registration started from 21st July 2020 through VMC firm, which was appointed without any tender process.
  • 3. Registrations were done by uploading fake certificates online, and some college employees did fake verification by email.
  • 4. Kuldeep Singh (former registrar) approved registrations by taking bribe through broker Sanjay.
  • 5. Some applicants made multiple applications with different documents, yet the registrations were approved without objection.
  • 6. Certificates were verified from fake email IDs.
  • 7. Even after leaving the post of Registrar, Kuldeep Singh approved 232 more fake registrations from his personal email.
  • 8. Neeraj, a resident of Shahbad, Delhi, used to print fake certificates, many fake documents were found from his computer during investigation.
  • 9. ACB seized a large number of fake certificates, diplomas, computers and printers.
  • 10. Many pharmacists and chemists in Delhi are working on fake licenses without proper qualifications, some of whom have not even passed 10th.

  •  Mukesh Kumar Sharma (clerk, Delhi Pharmacy Council)
  •  Sanjay Kumar (main broker)
  •  Dharmendra, Ajay Saini, Jai Kishor Poddar, Neeraj, Ajay Kumar (sub-tout)
  •  Neeraj (printing shop owner)
  •  Gurusharan, Hariom, Zafar Hayat (pharmacy college employees)
  • 35 illegal pharmacists/chemists arrested (list attached).

Satyendra Jain had got the former registrar appointed – sources
According to the information received so far from the sources, the arrested accused in this case, former registrar Kuldeep Singh, was appointed by former Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain. Investigation is going on in this case so that the role of other culprits can be determined. Efforts are on to cancel the fake registration and take action against the responsible officers.
