Delhi Assembly Elections: Congress fielded Alka Lamba against Delhi CM Atishi from Kalkaji seat, Congress has so far announced the names of candidates on 48 assembly seats.

Congress has announced the candidate from Kalkaji seat for the Delhi Assembly elections. The party has given ticket to Alka Lamba. She will face Chief Minister Atishi on Kalkaji seat. In a post on social media platform X, Congress said, The Central Election Committee has approved the candidature of Ms. @LambaAlka as Congress candidate to contest the forthcoming general election to the Legislative Assembly of Delhi from 51 – Kalkaji constituency.

Alka Lamba was third in the 2020 elections

In the last assembly elections, Alka Lamba contested from Chandni Chowk seat on a Congress ticket. However, she had to face defeat here. Aam Aadmi Party candidate Prahlad Singh Sahni had won. In this election, Alka Lamba was in third place. At the same time, Alka won the 2015 assembly elections. She contested this election on the ticket of Aam Aadmi Party. She defeated BJP candidate Suman Gupta by more than 18 thousand votes.

Alka said, Aam Aadmi Party and Bharatiya Janata Party together have ruined Delhi. The government and administration should have worked together but in the last 10 years, both kept fighting among themselves. The people of Delhi had to bear the brunt of this clash between BJP and Aam Aadmi Party. Be it unemployment, inflation, crime or corruption, every problem affected the people of Delhi. He claimed that the people of Delhi, who are troubled by Aam Aadmi Party and BJP, will bring about change by joining hands with Congress.
