BJP MLA Tarvinder Singh Marwah has demanded to make nameplates mandatory outside shops in Delhi. Yesterday, Sunday, March 30, BJP MLA from Jangpura, Tarvinder Marwah, writing a letter to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, said that shopkeepers should write their names outside the shops in Delhi, so that people have an informed choice.
He said, “As Navratri and Eid are approaching, it is important to ensure that the festivals are celebrated with mutual respect and harmony. I request your esteemed office to issue guidelines to shopkeepers across Delhi to install name plates in front of establishments.”
This will promote communal harmony – Tarvinder Marwah
Marwah said, “This will allow citizens to make informed choices while purchasing sacred items, maintaining the sanctity of their rituals and beliefs. This step will promote transparency and communal harmony. Your intervention will help in smooth celebration and preventing misunderstandings.”
What did Marwah say?
In a special conversation with RBNEWS regarding his letter, Tarvinder Singh Marwah claimed that he was receiving complaints that when people go to the shops, the name is different, but when they go inside they find out that there is non-veg inside as well. In such a situation, his demand is that it should be mandatory to have the name of the shopkeeper written outside the shops.
Tarvinder Singh Marwah said that there are still 2 days of session left of the assembly, so he will also raise this issue on the floor of the assembly. Also, his demand is that the nameplate outside the shops i.e. the name of the shopkeeper should be there 365 days a year and not just during Navratri or festivals.
