Delhi: By implementing new rules at New Delhi Railway Station, only one platform has been designated for special trains going to Prayagraj.

There is a continuous rush of people at New Delhi Railway Station. Recently, there was a stampede at the station in which 18 people died and many were injured. Now Delhi Police has taken several new measures to control the crowd at New Delhi Railway Station, so that a stampede like situation does not arise again. According to a senior police officer, a special meeting was organized on Monday and many important decisions were taken in it. Let us know about these decisions.

Passengers’ tickets will be checked

It has been decided in the special meeting that passengers arriving at the station long before the departure of the train will have to wait outside the railway station. For the smooth movement of passengers, Delhi Police personnel, along with RPF and GRP, will check the tickets of passengers at all entry and exit points.

Prayagraj special trains will be available from this platform

It has been decided by the railway officials that special trains going to Prayagraj at New Delhi Railway Station will depart only from platform number 16. An official said, “Platform 16 can be accessed from the ground level through multiple entry and exit points, which will eliminate the need for passengers to use the foot overbridge. This will help in managing the crowd effectively.”

Ban on roaming on foot overbridge without any work
The police have also banned roaming on the foot overbridge at New Delhi Railway Station without any valid reason. According to the information, many people were standing or waiting on the foot overbridge without any work. This was causing congestion and delay. A designated waiting area with a temporary pandal has been set up outside the station. Apart from this, foot patrolling has been increased on all platforms, and passengers will not be allowed to sit on the platform without a valid reason.
