Delhi: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta met the people for the first time in the Chief Minister Jan Seva Sadan and listened to their problems to solve the problems of Delhiites

To solve the problems of Delhiites, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta met the people for the first time on Wednesday (July 9) at the Chief Minister’s Public Service House and listened to their problems. During this, the CM took effective steps to overcome the problems of the people. On this occasion, the CM said that public hearing is a bridge of communication between the government-administration-public.

The Chief Minister started the hearing with a new look at the Public Service House located at 2/8 Civil Lines. Extensive preparations were made for this. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that today he saw a spark of hope in the eyes of the people and faith in their hearts that the government is listening to them and is engaged in the process of finding a solution.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was till now conducting public hearing at her residence in Shalimar Bagh. Since it was a residential area, there was a lot of crowd there. In such a situation, the CM had to listen to the problems of the people on the road and solve them. Despite this, his public hearing continued. Now she has officially got the Chief Minister’s Jan Seva Sadan (camp office) in the Civil Lines area, where she used effective methods to solve the problems of the people of Delhi. Actually, Jan Seva Sadan has been built to listen to the problems of the people and solve them.

Officials of many departments present on the spot

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta met the people in Jan Seva Sadan from 8 am to 10 am and resolved their problems in the presence of officials. Officials of about a dozen departments like Water Board, Education, Police, Health, Delhi Municipal Corporation were present on the spot. People put forward their problems, complaints, suggestions and needs directly in front of the Chief Minister and senior officials. The Chief Minister issued orders to the concerned officials to solve them. Most of the complaints were related to crime, drinking water, admission, health, road, encroachment etc.

During the hearing, special arrangements were made for the citizens coming to the Chief Minister’s Jan Seva Sadan. Facilities like seating arrangements, drinking water etc. were ensured. The entry process has also been simplified so that there is no crowding and every citizen gets an opportunity to express his views. It was taken care of that people coming with problems do not have to face any problem.

‘Serving the public is a life’s resolution’

On the public hearing, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that serving the public is her life’s resolution. Public hearing is not just a government process for her, but a medium of direct communication with the public. She said that during the public hearing, she saw a spark of hope in the eyes of the people and faith in their hearts that the government is listening to them and is engaged in the process of finding a solution. She said that our government is working on the principle of ‘sunwai nahi, samvaad’ (solution, not hearing).

People raised various issues in the hearing. She heard every issue and directed the concerned officials to resolve them within the stipulated time limit. The Chief Minister also said that our government wants to make Delhi not just a capital but a sensitive, empowered and just city. For this, the participation of every citizen is necessary. The real strength of democracy is to meet the public directly, know their pain, understand their problems and make policies accordingly.

‘People expect positive change from the government’
The CM said that public hearing is proof that people have faith in democracy and expect positive change from the government. We have reestablished the culture of listening. When the government and the public understand each other, no problem remains impossible. The purpose of our efforts is not only to solve the problem, but also to assure the people that this government is their own.

According to the Chief Minister, she wants to assure every citizen of Delhi that our government is not for running the government, but for serving. We will take every complaint seriously and try to fulfill every demand as much as possible. She also said that there has always been a lack of communication between the previous governments of Delhi and the public. Earlier, people had to face difficulties to resolve their problems, but the Chief Minister Jan Samvad Sadan will now play the role of a communication bridge between the government-administration-public. The CM said that his government considers the suffering of the people as its own. Jan Seva Sadan will bring governance closer to the people, and it will also establish that my government is responsible, sensitive and seriously engaged in public welfare.
