Delhi CM: After the big victory in the Delhi assembly elections, brainstorming has started on who will be the CM face of BJP. For the selection of the CM face, there will be a meeting of BJP Legislature Party on February 19, two days later, in which the name of the next Chief Minister of Delhi will be formally approved, while the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Minister of Delhi will be held on February 20.
If sources are to be believed, BJP is looking for such a face, through which the message goes not only in Delhi but across the country. There should be a face that takes forward the vision of PM Narendra Modi while keeping a low profile. What factors can BJP take into account in choosing the Chief Minister. Let us tell you.
Women factor
Today, women have become a big vote bank in the country. PM Narendra Modi has already made a big effort to woo this class through the Women’s Bill. There is no woman Chief Minister in 20 NDA-ruled states, in such a situation, BJP can give a big message to the country by putting a woman forward. At present, it will be decided in the Legislature Party meeting.
Business class factor
Vaishya and business class are considered to be the biggest and unbroken core voters of BJP. This community also dominates Delhi. In the upcoming elections, the Vaishya population is also quite high in the state of Bihar. If the party takes into account all these equations, a Vaishya community face may get a chance.
Punjabi factor
Punjabi and Sikh voters are considered to be the strongest and most important in Delhi. BJP has not been able to become strong in Punjab till now. If BJP wants to balance the equations from Delhi to Punjab, a Punjabi face may get the command. Punjabi and Sikh communities together are said to be around 30 percent in Delhi. This time BJP has been successful in winning all the seats dominated by Punjabi voters except one. In such a situation, a leader belonging to this community may hit the jackpot.
Purvanchal factor
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had expressed special gratitude to the voters of Purvanchal in his address after the victory in the Delhi assembly elections. BJP was successful in winning Purvanchal dominated seats. Since there is an election in Bihar at the end of the year, BJP can also play the gamble of handing over the chair to a Purvanchal face.
Dalit factor
Delhi has more than 17 percent Dalit population. The party was successful in winning only 4 out of 12 reserved seats. On the other hand, the way the opposition tries to corner the BJP on the issue of constitution and reservation across the country, BJP can send a message to the country through a Dalit face.
These are the strong contenders
If New Delhi seat and defeating Kejriwal is made the criteria for the Chief Minister, then Pravesh Verma’s name is at the forefront.
Rekha Gupta or Shikha Roy among women
Vijender Gupta among Vaishya
The party can bet on Ashish Sood or Rajkumar Bhatia among Punjabis.
