There has been a sensation after the bodies of two Nigerian citizens were found inside a flat in the Daabri area of Dwarka, Delhi. The deceased have been identified as Joseph and Chibituram. The bodies of both were recovered from a house on Sunday afternoon.
In the initial investigation, the police suspect this to be a case of drug overdose. However, the real cause of death will be known only after the post-mortem report comes. The police have taken both the bodies into custody and sent them for post-mortem.
Six arrested including two Nigerians
In another news, last month the Delhi Police busted an international fraud gang active in Delhi-NCR and arrested six people including two Nigerian citizens in this connection. Police had said that the accused were cheating Indian citizens through fake lotteries, gifts and reward schemes. This gang, active for many years, used to lure the victims to send large amounts of money to bank accounts opened fraudulently. The accused were identified as Shahid Raza (45), Shahrukh Khan (23), Vikas (25) and Rakesh alias Lalu (22). These four people used to commit fraud in connivance with Nigerian nationals Shedrack Onyanor (29) and Sunday John alias Liberty (40).
On July 7, information was received that a group of thugs operating from Delhi was duping people through online lottery and gift schemes, after which the gang was busted. Raza was arrested from Punjabi Bagh in Delhi. Rs 3.63 lakh in cash, nine ATM cards and a mobile phone containing incriminating information were recovered from him. Interrogation with him revealed a network involving Indian and foreign nationals of Nigerian origin.
In the subsequent raid, Shedrack was arrested from Khanpur in Delhi when he was collecting the defrauded amount. He was living illegally in India since 2018. He stayed in India longer than the duration of his medical visa. Incriminating digital evidence was also recovered from him. The remaining arrests were made based on the revelations made by Raza and Shedrack. The police teams seized several mobile phones, Aadhar and PAN cards, cheque books, passbooks and other items.
