However, after the construction of this expressway, this journey can be completed in just 2.5 hours. Seriously ill patients from Saharanpur are often sent to Dehradun. In such a situation, it takes 2 to 3 hours for the patients to reach the hospital in Dehradun. With the construction of the expressway, this journey will be reduced to just one hour. According to information received from officials, about 80% of the work of Delhi-Dehradun Expressway has been completed, and the remaining 20% work is expected to be completed by March.
Work of Delhi-Dehradun Expressway
The elevated road from Bihari Garh to Dehradun is completely ready. This road is passing through mountains and forests. Total cost of building the expressway
According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the total cost of building the 212 km long six-lane Delhi-Dehradun Greenfield Access Control Expressway is Rs 12,000 crore. The first 18 km of this expressway from Akshardham Temple to Loni will be toll-free. This expressway is being constructed starting from Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Akshardham in Delhi, Shastri Park, Khajuri Khas, EPE Interchange at Khekra in Mandola, Baghpat, Shamli, Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh to Dehradun in Uttarakhand. In the first phase of the expressway, 31.6 km will be opened, which will be from Akshardham to Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) Interchange in Baghpat.
