Delhi News: The Delhi government has started preparations to maintain uninterrupted and smooth power supply in summer. Energy Minister Ashish Sood called a meeting for discussion at the Delhi Secretariat. Senior officials of the power department Discom attended the meeting. He directed to immediately implement the Summer Action Plan 2025. Minister Ashish Sood said after the meeting, “The Delhi government is committed to solving the problem of power cuts in summer.
The government has ordered all power distribution companies to start work on the Summer Action Plan without delay.” The Energy Minister said that power consumption increases during summer in Delhi. The transmission and distribution network will be strengthened to meet the increasing demand for electricity.

1. Monitoring of power grid- The pressure on the power grid increases in summer. There is a possibility of frequent faults in the grid. The Energy Minister has instructed the officials that if the grid fails, it should be repaired within a maximum of 5 minutes.
2. Solution to hanging wires and disarranged poles–Electric wires hang here and there at various places in Delhi. There is a risk of accident due to electric wires. The government has directed that unnecessary wires be removed from the poles and arranged.
3. Review meeting will be held every 15 days–The Energy Minister said that every A review meeting will be held in 15 days. The progress report of the previous decisions will be discussed in the meeting.
4. Start of model colonies – Colonies will be developed in Delhi. Electricity wires will be laid underground in model colonies.
Preparation of summer action plan begins
Let us tell you that the demand for electricity reaches 7,500 to 8,000 MW in summer. The government believes that this time too the record of electricity consumption will be broken in May-June. Therefore, all the necessary arrangements are being made from now on.
The Energy Minister said, “Our goal is to overcome the shortage of electricity. The Delhi government is working in action mode. The new government has the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.” He also appealed to the public to make good use of electricity. He said that avoid unnecessary load and adopt energy saving methods.
