Delhi Fire Safety News: Before the summer in the capital Delhi, the Delhi government has ordered a fire safety audit of all government buildings, hospitals and health centers. This order was given by the Public Works Department of the Delhi Government on April 2, 2025. According to the order, all fire prevention measures will be reviewed in this investigation.
It will be seen whether the fire alarms, water sprinkler systems and fire extinguishers are properly installed and working in the buildings or not. The order said that during the fire safety audit, the existing fire prevention measures will be examined, potential hazards will be identified and suggestions for improvement will be given as per the safety rules. This entire process has to be completed by April 15. Also, the fire detection and alarm systems will be checked in these government buildings to ensure that these devices are regularly tested and maintained.
Apart from this, the emergency exit plan will also be seen in government buildings. It will be checked whether the escape routes are made or not, and whether people are practicing them or not.
It is being told that under this audit, it will also be seen whether the employees working in government buildings and the people visiting there are aware of the rules of fire safety or not. Everyone should be informed about the correct methods of fire prevention. Also, a team of fire safety experts and engineers will be formed to carry out this entire process. This team will check all the important points on the basis of a special checklist, so that no shortcomings are left.
After the investigation, a detailed report will be prepared, which will tell where the safety measures are lacking and what should be done to fix them and then this report will be submitted to Delhi Fire Service in addition to PWD.
