Will people working in Noida-Gurugram get a holiday?

For the people living in Delhi, there will be a public holiday on the day of voting for the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 i.e. February 5. Now in such a situation, the question is coming in the minds of the people whether the people working in Noida and Gurugram will also get a holiday on the day of voting.

So let us tell you that if a voter is from Delhi, that is, his vote is in Delhi. And he works in Noida or Gurugram. So he can ask for leave from his company. Because he has this right under section 135-B of the Representation of People Act, 1951.

What if the company does not give leave?

If you are a registered voter of Delhi. And you do not work in Delhi but in Noida or Gurugram. So in such a situation you can ask for leave from your company for the voting to be held on 5 February. If you do not get leave. Then you can ask for half day from them. Or you can make your work timings flexible. So that you can cast your vote. If despite all these things your company refuses for everything.

Then it will be a violation of the rules. Because according to section 135-B of the Representation of People Act, 1951, it is mandatory to give paid leave to employees on the day of voting. You can also tell your company’s HR about this in writing. Even then if the work is not done then you can complain about your company to the Election Commission and Labor Department.
