Parents will be able to see the lottery process themselves
Ashish Sood said that the government is committed to keeping every process transparent and fair. Any parent can see the lottery process directly. Keeping in mind the convenience of the parents, due to the limited availability of space, several TV screens will also be installed so that everyone can see the process clearly.
Emphasis on transparency and good governance in education
The Education Minister said that the Delhi government is fully committed to ensuring transparency and good governance in all areas. He said that the effect of these efforts of the government will be seen soon.
Why is admission under EWS quota necessary?
In Delhi, 25% of the seats in private schools are reserved for children from economically weaker sections (EWS) and disadvantaged sections (DG). Complaints of irregularities and rigging often come to the fore regarding these admissions. In such a situation, the Delhi government has taken steps to ensure that this process is completely transparent and every eligible child gets equal opportunity.
What is the process?
• The Delhi government selects these admissions through an online lottery system.
• The lottery is completely computerized and drawn on a random basis so that there is no irregularity.
• The list of selected children is also made public on the government website.
Why is this initiative of the government important?
The Delhi government has taken many important initiatives in the field of education in the last few years. Emphasis has been laid on better infrastructure, teacher training, smart classrooms and vocational education in government schools. Along with this, this initiative of bringing complete transparency in the admissions of EWS and DG category will prove to be a golden opportunity for thousands of needy children. Now it remains to be seen how effectively EWS admissions are done in private schools through this transparent process of the government and how helpful it proves for the bright future of the children.
