Aam Aadmi Party has changed its candidate from Mehrauli for Delhi Assembly Elections 2025. Mahendra Chaudhary has been made the new candidate from this seat in place of Naresh Yadav. Naresh Yadav has been accused of Quran desecration. He had posted on social media and informed that he will not contest the elections this time. After this, Mahendra Chaudhary has been given ticket from this seat. Aam Aadmi Party has announced the names of its candidates on all 70 seats.
Naresh Yadav is also the current MLA from Mehrauli. The party had once again expressed confidence in him, but after getting embroiled in controversies, he himself has decided not to contest the elections.
What did Naresh Yadav write?
Nesh Yadav wrote on his social media platform ‘X’, “Twelve years ago, inspired by the politics of honesty of respected Arvind Kejriwal ji, I joined the Aam Aadmi Party. This party has given me a lot. Today, after meeting Arvind ji, I told him that I will not contest the elections until I am honorably acquitted by the court. I am completely innocent and the allegations leveled against me are politically motivated and false. That is why I have requested them to free me from contesting the elections. I will continue to serve the people of Mehrauli and like a common worker, I will put in all my efforts to make Kejriwal the CM again. Jai Hind. Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”
Four lists of Aam Aadmi Party released
The first list of Aam Aadmi Party candidates had 11 names. Whereas, the second list had 20 names. The third list had only one name and the fourth list had 38 names. Out of the 20 names announced by the party in the second list, 17 were new faces. Whereas, the fourth list had two new faces. It is clear from this that Aam Aadmi Party has also made preparations to deal with anti-incumbency. Aam Aadmi Party has changed Manish Sisodia’s seat. Till now he used to contest elections from Patparganj assembly and was also winning, but this time he is contesting from Jangpura. YouTuber and teacher Avadh Ojha has been given the ticket in place of Sisodia from Patparganj seat. Delhi Assembly elections may be held in the month of February next year. The Election Commission has not yet announced the dates of the elections.
