New Delhi: Assembly elections are to be held in the country’s capital Delhi next year. In view of the elections, the major parties have started their preparations here. Many of these parties have also announced the names of all their candidates. Amidst all this, everyone’s eyes are also on the preparations of the Bharatiya Janata Party. According to the information received at the moment, the State Election Committee constituted by the Bharatiya Janata Party for the upcoming assembly elections has prepared a list of names of about 225 to 230 potential candidates for a total of 70 seats. Party leaders have given this information.

A top party leader associated with the entire process of selection of BJP candidates in Delhi gave information in this regard. He told that the committee headed by BJP’s Delhi unit president Virendra Sachdeva held a meeting for more than 4 hours on Thursday to shortlist the names of eligible candidates from the list of more than 700 candidates prepared by the central observers. He said, “The election committee has listed three to four names for potential candidates on each of the 70 seats. These names will be discussed further and the list will be prepared in the next meeting of the committee to be held on Saturday.” He said that the names of the candidates are likely to be announced next week after the list is discussed by the Central Election Committee of BJP.
