New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday launched several development projects related to civic amenities in the AC and SD blocks of the Shalimar Bagh assembly constituency. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the Delhi government’s objective is not merely to carry out construction work, but to make the daily lives of citizens more convenient, safe, and dignified.
Construction of Roads, Drains, and Sewers
Construction and improvement work will be carried out on roads, drains, and sewers in the AC Block and SD (C) area. This includes the construction of RMC (Ready Mix Concrete) roads, construction of drains using RCC technology, road strengthening, and improvement of the drainage system, which will provide relief from waterlogging during the rainy season.
Relief from Waterlogging near Kohat Metro Station
Among the major projects launched by the Chief Minister are the construction of roads and drains in the SD (C) block using RMC and dense carpeting technology. In addition, the construction of a new drain using RCC technology has also been started on the route from SD (C) block to LD Kohat Metro Station, which will ensure a permanent solution to the drainage problem in this area. Simultaneously, work has also begun on walkways, walking tracks, boundary walls, and beautification projects in various parks of the AC block, including Nehru Park, Apna Park, and Central Park in Shalimar Bagh.
Construction of New Surface Parking
The Chief Minister stated that the aim of these projects is to make the parks safer, more beautiful, and more convenient for citizens. She also announced that a new surface parking facility will be constructed in the AC block to address the parking problem, which will provide significant relief to the local residents.
Approval for Several Development Projects
In addition, various development projects related to lanes, drains, and parks have been approved in the AD, AJ, AL, AE, AF, and SD (C) blocks of Shalimar Bagh. These works will include paving of streets and drains, repair of walkways and boundary walls in parks, beautification of public spaces, and expansion of basic civic amenities to meet local needs.
