Delhi: A shocking incident has come to light in the city’s Wazirabad area. Here three miscreants have committed theft by entering a house posing as fake CBI officers. The three miscreants, wearing white shirts, black pants and masks, staged a drama of being a CBI team. Their aim was to steal lakhs of rupees and jewelry kept in the house. They cleverly executed this incident. However, after the victim’s complaint, the police took action and put the entire team, including the woman, behind bars.
The family was made to sit in a corner by threatening them
According to the police, on the evening of July 10, the accused reached the house of a person named Israt Jameel in Wazirabad area posing as fake CBI officers. Introducing themselves as CBI officers, they started the drama of search and told the family members that they have an FIR and a search warrant. The accused quietly made the family sit in a corner. When Israt asked them for a copy of the FIR and warrant, they scolded her. The accused said, “First let us do our work, then we will take you all to the police station.”
Fled after making fake signatures
One of the accused made the entire family sit in a corner of the room. The other two started searching the house. They broke the lock of the cupboard and took away the gold and silver jewellery and about three lakh rupees in cash. When Israt asked them for a receipt, they signed her daughter’s copy with a fake name and fled from there. After some time Israt got suspicious and called the police, but by then all three fake officers had fled.
Searched 200 CCTV cameras
Looking at the seriousness of the case, the police formed a special team to catch the accused. The police searched the footage of more than 200 CCTV cameras installed around the crime scene. After this, the police saw two accused going on a motorcycle in one footage. Police investigation revealed that the motorcycle was registered in the name of someone named Shaina. The person who drove the motorcycle on the day of the incident was identified as Keshav Prasad, both the accused had fled from their house.
Police was also fooled
Through technical surveillance, the location of both the accused was found to be in Haridwar, but by the time the police reached Haridwar to arrest the accused, the accused had left from there. After this, through technical surveillance, the police arrested Shaina and Keshav from Mussoorie. On their information, the third accomplice Vivek Singh was arrested from Haridwar.
Revelation during interrogation
During police interrogation, Shaina told that she is a distant relative of Israt and she knew that there is cash and jewellery kept in her house. Due to this greed, she included her friend Keshav in the plan and then Keshav also included his neighbour Vivek. The three planned to rob Israt’s house by posing as CBI officers and executed the incident. Police have recovered 1.75 lakh cash and jewellery from the accused from the looted money.
