Delhi: IP University student commits suicide by jumping from 7th floor of hostel, police are investigating the matter.

New Delhi: A student committed suicide at Indraprastha (IP) University in South-West Delhi. It is being told that on Sunday, the 25-year-old student committed suicide by jumping from the seventh floor of his hostel. Officials gave information about this incident. It is being told that the deceased student was a resident of Bihar, who was studying MBA at IP University. At present, the police is investigating the matter. Along with this, the police is also being questioned in connection with this incident. The reasons for suicide have not been known yet.

The student was a resident of Bihar

Delhi Police said in a statement that at 6.20 pm, Dwarka North Police Station received information about a student committing suicide. As soon as the information was received, the police team reached the spot. The deceased student was identified as Gautam Kumar, a resident of Vaishali in Bihar. The statement said, “Gautam Kumar was a first year MBA student at the main campus of IP University located in Sector-16. He committed suicide by jumping from the seventh floor of the hostel building.”

The university did not give any statement

There has been no immediate response from the university administration in this entire matter. It is being told that the student was upset about being evicted from the hostel for celebrating his birthday party. Some of Gautam’s classmates also allegedly raised slogans against the university administration. At present, the body of the deceased has been kept in the DDU hostel awaiting post-mortem. Inquiry and investigation action is being taken by the police in the matter.
