GRAP 4 Revoked From Delhi NCR: There has been an improvement in pollution in the capital Delhi. After this, CAQM has removed GRAP 4 from Delhi NCR. Strict rules were implemented under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP 4). These included a complete ban on construction activities and a ban on the entry of non-essential polluting trucks in the city, which has now been restored. However, restrictions under GRAP 1, 2 and three will remain in force in Delhi.
The restrictions under GRAP 4 included a ban on all construction activities, stopping the entry of non-essential polluting trucks in Delhi and mandatorily operating school classes in hybrid mode except for classes 10 and 12. Now these restrictions have been removed.
The improvement in air quality was due to favorable meteorological conditions, including better wind speeds as per forecasts by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and the Institute of Meteorology (IITM). The measures were aimed at reducing the severe pollution levels and included a ban on industrial activities, construction and entry of non-essential and polluting trucks.
On Tuesday, the AQI in Delhi was recorded at 401. At 7 am, it increased to 403. However, after the rain in the evening, there was a slight improvement in it, after which the restrictions of GRAP 4 were removed.
Let us tell you that on December 16, the AQI level in Delhi crossed 400, after which GRAP 4 has been implemented in Delhi-NCR.
