Delhi New EV Policy: Delhi government may soon announce Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy 2.0. According to sources, under this policy, there is a proposal to give subsidy of up to Rs 36,000 to women of the capital on purchasing electric two-wheelers. This benefit will be given to the first 10,000 women who have a driving license and who will buy a vehicle after the implementation of EV 2.0.
According to the draft, this subsidy will be given to women at the rate of Rs 12,000 per kilowatt, with a maximum limit of Rs 36,000. At the same time, all Delhi residents can get a subsidy of up to Rs 30,000 at the rate of Rs 10,000 per kilowatt on purchasing EV by 2030.

That is, while the government can give subsidy of up to Rs 36,000 to the first 10,000 women of Delhi on buying two-wheeler electric vehicles, after men and 10,000 women, the government can also give subsidy of Rs 30,000 to other women on buying two-wheeler electric vehicles till the year 2030.
This scheme is considered a big step towards fighting pollution in Delhi. According to the TERI report, about 47% of PM 2.5 pollution in Delhi comes from vehicles. At the same time, vehicles contribute up to 81% in nitrogen oxide (NOx) pollution. Diesel vehicles in particular spread three to seven times more pollution than petrol vehicles.
