How did the accident happen?
After heavy rains in Delhi, the drains were overflowing. The drains could not be cleaned at many places. In such a situation, waterlogging was taking place. Children were studying in the library at a coaching centre in Rajendra Nagar. The library was built in the basement. Due to increased water pressure in the drains, flood water started entering the basement. Due to waterlogging, electricity was cut off and the automatic gate of the library stopped working. Due to this, the students got stuck in the basement. They were taken out with the help of ropes and stairs, but all the students could not be rescued in time. Three students died in this accident. These included two women and a young man.
Uproar after the death of students
There was a lot of uproar after the death of the students. All the private coaching centers came under target and they had to give clarification on this matter. Bharatiya Janata Party leaders had made serious allegations against the Aam Aadmi Party. The students sat on a dharna for a long time and also blocked the road. However, the anger of the students subsided after action was taken against the coaching operators.
