Srinagar Flight Emergency Landing: Recalling the moment when the IndiGo flight to Srinagar made an emergency landing due to bad weather, Trinamool Congress leader Sagarika Ghosh on Wednesday said that “it was a near death experience.” A five-member Trinamool delegation was on board the Srinagar-bound flight, which was disrupted due to bad weather. The delegation members on the plane included Derek O’Brien, Nadeemul Haque, Sagarika Ghosh, Manas Bhuiyan and Mamta Thakur.
An IndiGo flight carrying more than 220 people from Delhi to Srinagar on Wednesday got stuck in adverse conditions due to bad weather, after which the pilot reported an ’emergency’ to the air traffic control in Srinagar and then landed safely in Srinagar. Videos of the moments of adverse conditions have surfaced on social media, in which panicked passengers can be seen praying while the plane is shaking.

What did Sagarika Ghosh say?
On this incident, Sagarika Ghosh said, “It was an experience of coming close to death. I felt that my life was over. People were screaming, praying.” She further said, “Salute to the pilot who took us out of that situation. When we landed, we saw that the front part of the plane was damaged.”
IndiGo said – all passengers are safe
IndiGo issued a press statement on this incident, which said, “IndiGo flight 6E 2142 from Delhi to Srinagar faced sudden hailstorm on the way. The flight and cabin crew followed the established protocol and the plane landed safely in Srinagar. After the arrival of the plane, the airport team took care of the passengers and gave priority to their well-being and comfort. The plane will be dispatched after necessary inspection and maintenance.”
