The budget session of the Assembly is going to start in Delhi from Monday. The first budget will be presented by the Rekha Gupta government on March 25. Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party will protest in the Delhi Assembly during the budget session regarding Mahila Samman Rashi.
The 5-day budget session of the newly elected Bharatiya Janata Party government will begin on March 25 at 11 am. According to officials aware of the matter, the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report on the Delhi Transport Corporation for 2024 is likely to be presented on the first day.

The government has also invited representatives from various sectors like farmers and traders, from whom suggestions were sought to be included in the budget. The House will begin with Question Hour followed by Special Mention (Rule-280), under which MLAs will raise matters related to their constituencies and generally affecting the people of Delhi with the permission of the Speaker.
What will be included in the budget
After this, on Tuesday i.e. March 25, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, who is also the Finance Minister of the state, will present the budget. The party has named the budget as a developed budget. Delhi Budget 2025-26 is likely to focus on infrastructure development, cleaning of Yamuna and tackling air pollution as well as provisions for health and education sectors. This budget is also expected to include the BJP’s Mahila Samridhi Yojana launched for women, under which women have been promised ₹ 2,500 assistance every month.
After the budget presentation, there will be a discussion on March 26 (Wednesday) to analyze the financial allocations and policy initiatives. Speaker Vijender Gupta said that the assembly will consider and vote on the proposed budget on March 27 (Thursday). The session is scheduled to run till March 28.
Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta said, the budget session is an important time in the legislative calendar, during which major financial and policy matters will be discussed and decided. The session is tentatively scheduled to run from March 24 to March 28, 2025, with a provision for extension if necessary.
What did CM Rekha Gupta say?
CM Rekha Gupta said about the budget, we received 3,303 suggestions on email and 6,982 WhatsApp messages. We have carefully considered all those suggestions. The CM further said, we have paid attention to all the needs of the common man like water and electricity as well as women empowerment. This budget will also focus on resolving waterlogging concerns, cleaning the Yamuna river, tackling air pollution, education, health, employment and infrastructure development. It fulfills Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed Delhi.
AAP will protest
The Aam Aadmi Party is currently constantly cornering the BJP over the Rs 2500 scheme launched by the BJP for women. Meanwhile, recently former CM Atishi had raised questions and protested against the BJP for not getting the installment of this scheme to women. Atishi also said that not a single penny was received, it was just a slogan. After this, Aam Aadmi Party can protest against this scheme of BJP during the session.
