After heavy rains in Delhi on Saturday and Sunday night, the entire city was waterlogged. Water remained filled at many places till morning. This caused trouble to the common people. After this, the Delhi government has started taking action against negligent employees and officials. The Delhi government immediately suspended the junior engineer in charge and the pump operator after waterlogging on Minto Bridge on Sunday.

According to government sources, the assistant engineer will be issued a show cause notice for “supervisory negligence” and the executive engineer has been directed to submit an explanation detailing the preventive measures to avoid such incidents in future. Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly and former chief minister Atishi also questioned whether minister Verma would be removed from his post, questioning why he was not monitoring the situation on the ground. “Will Parvesh Sahib Singh be removed from the post of PWD minister? Why is he not on the ground even after waterlogging? Why is he hiding?”
