Beirut/Jerusalem: Israel has vowed to destroy Hezbollah after Hamas. After this, Israeli warplanes carried out the most intense attacks on southern Lebanon last night for the first time in the war that has been going on for a year. Israel carried out these attacks despite calls from the US and Britain to exercise restraint. Israeli fighter jets roared and rained bombs in Lebanon throughout the night. This shook the whole country. During this, more than 1000 rocket barrel launchers of Hezbollah were destroyed and more than 100 hideouts were demolished.
This incident has further escalated the conflict between Israel and the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah. Meanwhile, the White House said that the incident was achievable through immediate diplomatic resolution. Britain also called for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah. White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said in a briefing, “The US is horrified and concerned about the possible escalation.” Lebanon and Hezbollah have blamed Israel for the death of 37 people and injury of more than 3000 people in a pager and radio blast a few days ago. This was also said to be the real reason for the conflict.
Hundreds of rocket launcher barrels destroyed in Lebanon
The Israeli army has claimed that Hezbollah had prepared more than 1000 rockets to launch towards it. But Israeli fighter jets destroyed all these rocket launcher barrels before this. During this, more than 100 hideouts of Hezbollah have been destroyed. Lebanon’s state news agency NNA said that Israel carried out more than 52 attacks in southern Lebanon after 9 pm. Three Lebanese security sources said that these were the biggest air strikes by Israel on it since the conflict began in October. However, there were no immediate reports of casualties.
Israel vows to destroy Hezbollah
The Israeli military vowed to continue attacking Hezbollah and said its strikes on Thursday hit about 100 rocket launchers and other targets in southern Lebanon. Now it will destroy Hezbollah just like it destroyed Hamas. Meanwhile Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said in a TV address that the device explosions on Tuesday and Wednesday “crossed all red lines”. Now “the enemy has gone beyond all controls, laws and morality. Nasralla said that these attacks by Israel “can be considered a war crime or a declaration of war.” Israel has not commented directly on the pager and radio explosions, which security sources say were probably carried out by its Mossad spy agency, which has a long history of carrying out sophisticated attacks on foreign soil.
Lebanon’s Prime Minister made this demand
The Lebanese mission to the United Nations said in a letter to the Security Council on Thursday that Israel is responsible for the explosions in pagers and electronic devices. Lebanon’s Prime Minister Najib Mikati has called on the Security Council to take a tough stand to stop Israel’s “aggression” and “technological war”. At the same time, Israel warned Hezbollah to pay a ‘big price’ for the attacks on its country. As soon as Nasralla’s broadcast was seen, the deafening sound of Israeli warplanes shook Beirut. Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Galant has said that Israel will continue military action against Hezbollah. The new phase of the war brings important opportunities but also significant risks.
