Diwali: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to ensure that there is no power cut in the state from October 28 to November 15. Many Hindu festivals will also fall during this period. The Chief Minister issued this order in a meeting in the presence of divisional commissioners, district magistrates and top police officials.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “In this period of happiness and celebration, 24-hour uninterrupted power supply should be ensured in the entire state from October 28 to November 15. Power Corporation should make necessary preparations for this.”
‘Action should be taken against adulteration’
The CM said, “Emergency health and trauma services should continue without any interruption. Doctors should be easily available in all areas, be it villages or cities.” He also pointed out the danger of adulteration in food items which increases significantly during festivals.
He said, “Food safety inspections should be intensified in view of the upcoming festivals, but it should also be kept in mind that no one is harassed in the name of inspection.”
Instructions to police to remain alert
The Chief Minister also ordered the Transport Department to increase the number of buses on rural routes. He said, “Buses in poor condition should not be allowed to ply on the roads.” CM Yogi stressed on strict law and order, continuous dialogue and cooperation from all sections of the society and ordered the police to remain on high alert round the clock.
On this occasion, CM Yogi said, “Whether it is Rakshabandhan, Shri Krishna Janmashtami, Durga Puja, Dussehra, Shravani fair or festivals like Eid, Bakrid, Barawafat and Muharram, a positive atmosphere prevails during every festival. This spirit of strong teamwork and public cooperation should always remain.”
‘Keep an eye on social media’
CM Yogi said, “Strict action should be taken against those who try to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere.” He ordered to increase vigilance on social media and has asked each district to deploy a team to constantly monitor these forums.
