America imposed 50 percent tariff on India

Let us tell you that Donald Trump had announced a 25 percent tariff on India on July 30 last month. Along with this, he had said that India buys large quantities of crude oil and military equipment from Russia, for which India will be fined separately. After which, Trump announced an additional 25 percent tariff on India for trading with Russia on August 6. After which the total tariff imposed by America on India increased to 50 percent. Donald Trump has also talked about imposing secondary sanctions on India.

After America imposed 50 percent tariff on India, PM Modi said that India will not compromise with the interests of its farmers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a program organized in Delhi on Thursday that the interest of farmers is India’s top priority. PM said that India is not compromising with the interests of farmers, fishermen and Will never compromise on the interests of people associated with the dairy sector. PM Modi said in the conference, “If I have to pay the price to protect the interests of farmers, then I am ready for it.”

India will not bow down to America

Let us tell you that America has been demanding entry into India’s agriculture and dairy sector since the beginning of the trade talks. But India had already told America in clear words that it will not make any compromise for the agriculture and dairy sector. There is a situation of tension between India and America. President Donald Trump had first imposed a 25 percent tariff on India, but after this he imposed another 25 percent tariff. This way the total tariff became 50 percent. Journalists asked Trump about talks with India. Trump has imposed the highest tariff on India and Brazil. Both these countries are almost ready to bear the burden of 50-50 percent tariff. Trump was asked whether the talks with India regarding the trade deal can be expedited now. Trump was putting a lot of pressure on India regarding the trade deal. He wants India to make an agreement on agriculture and dairy sector. The Indian market should be opened for American dairy products, but India is not ready for this. It has given a clear message on this matter. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday (7 August) that farmers come first for the country. There will be no compromise on issues related to them.
