Presidential elections are to be held in the US in November this year. Former President Donald Trump is busy campaigning in full swing. Meanwhile, there is news that his internal messages have been hacked and this allegation has been put on Iran. Trump’s campaign team claims that some of its internal communications have been hacked and Iranian hackers have done this act. However, he did not provide any evidence of this.
US news website Politico reported on Saturday that it was emailed campaign documents including internal research done on Ohio Senator JD Vance. It contained everything about Vance’s past record and his statements. Vance’s file was 271 pages long. Vance has been declared by Trump as his vice presidential candidate. A spokesperson for the campaign team said that the purpose of this document was to interfere in the 2024 presidential election. Politico has confirmed the authenticity of the document.
The news outlet reported that it started receiving emails in late July. He also said that he had received a document in the mail regarding the research done on Florida Senator Marco Rubio. Marco was also a contender for the post of Vice President. However, Trump’s campaign team has not given any proof that the leaked document was leaked by Iranian hackers or that it has any connection with the Iranian government.
Trump’s campaign targeted
In fact, the campaign team’s statement came a day after Microsoft released a report, which said that Iranian hackers had targeted the campaign of an unnamed US presidential candidate in June. Microsoft Threat Analysis Center (MTAC) sent a spear phishing email to Trump’s campaign team. It contained a message, which was designed in such a way that it could be induced to click on the link given in it.
The MTAC report said that Iranian activities have been observed in the last several months. Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said the hacking and the short-term selection of Vance in the MTAC report matched that email. Cheung said the Iranians know very well that President Trump will stop their reign of terror just as he did in his first four years in the White House.
