What is the reason for such a large scale seizure of drugs in India
Drug smuggling not only affects the security of the country but also badly affects public health security, political stability and economic development. According to media reports, the current market of drug smuggling around the world is about $ 650 billion, which is 30 percent of the illegal economy in the whole world. It is the misfortune of India that the country is trapped in the Golden Triangle of drug smuggling. Myanmar is the largest producer of opium and the largest supplier of heroin after Afghanistan. Due to this, drugs are smuggled from Myanmar to the north-eastern states of India on a large scale.
Apart from this, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran are also infamous for drug smuggling. Criminals of these three countries sell their drugs in India, as well as large scale drugs are smuggled from the sea areas of India and it is sent to the West and other countries of the world. This is the reason why cases of large scale seizure of drugs are often reported in India.
