Dubai: The President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has launched a 10-year Blue Residency visa. People who obtain this visa will be able to stay in the UAE for a long time. They will also be given many other facilities. The UAE has launched this visa for people working for the environment. UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum wrote on Twitter after launching the visa that as part of the Council of Ministers’ projects to implement national directives, today we approved the “Blue Residency”. Which is a long-term residence for a period of 10 years.
It will be provided to individuals who have made extraordinary contributions and efforts in the field of protecting the environment, whether it is marine or land or air environmental quality, sustainability and its modern technologies, circular economy, or other areas, we will provide blue visas to all such people. The year 2024 will be the year of stability … The stability of our economy is linked to the stability of our environment … and our national directions in this area are clear and consistent. Visas approved in Abu Dhabi
The UAE has launched this 10-year Blue Residency Visa for Environmental Contributors. It aims to recognise and support individuals who have made significant contributions to environmental protection. The announcement was made by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, following a Cabinet meeting at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid stressed the UAE’s strong commitment to sustainability, saying on X, “The sustainability of our economy is linked to the sustainability of our environment, and our national directions in this area are clear and consistent.” As the UAE continues its Year of Sustainability (2023-2024), the Blue Visa initiative aligns with the country’s long-term goals of promoting environmental protection and sustainable practices
Eligibility for Blue Visa
The Blue Visa will be granted to those who have shown outstanding commitment and impact in various fields of the environment. This includes work in marine life conservation, land-based ecosystems, air quality improvement, sustainability technology, and the circular economy. The initiative is part of the President’s directive to extend the Year of Sustainability, which highlights the UAE’s ongoing efforts to support global environmental sustainability.
Application Process for Blue Visa
Individuals who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for a Blue Visa through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP). Additionally, the relevant authorities can nominate qualified candidates for consideration. The Blue Visa will bring a number of benefits.
