Union Home Minister Amit Shah is on a visit to Jammu and Kashmir. On Friday, he held a high-level border security meeting with top officials. During the meeting, Shah appreciated the recent actions of the security forces in the Jammu region, which resulted in the killing of four Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists in the last 15 days.
The Home Minister instructed the security forces to work with better coordination for effective results. He directed that every operation should be launched from the Joint Control Center (JCC). He also instructed them to take strong action against Pakistani terrorists active in the hinterland of the Jammu region. He further emphasized the need to completely dismantle the ground network of terrorist organizations in the Kashmir Valley.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the forward areas along the international border in Kathua on Friday. He visited the Gurnam and Bobiyan border outposts in the Hiranagar sector and interacted with the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel guarding the border.
The Minister also digitally inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for six welfare schemes for border guards at Bobiyan in Kathua. Shah paid homage to the martyrs at the Ajay Prahari Martyrs’ Memorial at Bobiyan BOP.
Amit Shah chaired a high-level security review meeting at the Lok Bhavan in Jammu and later distributed appointment letters on compassionate grounds to some families affected by terrorism. Shah’s visit comes amidst heightened vigilance along the border aimed at curbing terrorist infiltration and the smuggling of weapons and narcotics. Anti-terrorism operations have also been intensified, resulting in the killing of four Pakistani terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed in about 12 encounters in Kathua, Udhampur, and Kishtwar districts in the last two weeks. The Union Home Minister arrived in Jammu on Thursday night (February 6). He was welcomed by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, and senior BJP leaders, including Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, Sunil Sharma.
