After the earthquake, an aftershock of 6.4 magnitude was also recorded, which increased the panic further.

The Indian Embassy in Bangkok monitored the situation in coordination with the Thai authorities and informed that so far there has been no news of any Indian citizen being injured. All the members of the Indian Embassy in Bangkok and Chiang Mai are safe. At the same time, an emergency number was also issued.
