An earthquake of 4.2 magnitude struck Afghanistan early Wednesday morning. People were sleeping in their homes when the earthquake occurred. Some people who were awake felt the vibration. According to the National Center for Seismology, the depth of the earthquake has been recorded at 10 km. NCS has posted its information on Twitter, in which it is written that “an earthquake of magnitude 4.2 occurred in Afghanistan at 4:07 minutes and 56 seconds on the morning of February 21.”
This is the second earthquake to hit the crisis-hit country within 24 hours. An earthquake of 4.7 magnitude occurred in Faizabad, Afghanistan on Monday. The National Center for Seismology (NCS) said that earlier on Sunday evening also an earthquake of 5.1 magnitude on the Richter scale was recorded in Afghanistan.
Earthquake caused devastation in Afghanistan
