Earthquake in Afghanistan & Myanmar Today: Strong tremors of earthquake were felt in Myanmar at midnight today. Its intensity on the Richter scale was measured at 4.0. This earthquake occurred about 10 kilometers below the ground. It is considered a mild to moderate earthquake. The effect of this earthquake was felt in Myanmar and some parts around it. People came out of their homes after the earthquake. However, there is no news of any loss of life or property so far.
The National Center for Seismology (NCS) said that strong tremors of earthquake were felt in Myanmar at 12:28 midnight Indian time, after which people were terrified. Earthquakes keep happening in Myanmar every day. NCS said that the situation is being monitored by the concerned authorities and information will be shared with the people on any new update or tremor. People have been appealed to be alert and safe.

Strong earthquake also hit Afghanistan
Today (Saturday, May 24, 2025) at 2:44 pm, strong tremors of earthquake were felt in Afghanistan. Its intensity on the Richter scale has been measured at 4.2. The epicenter of this earthquake was located at a depth of about 134 kilometers from the earth’s surface. This earthquake was felt in the northern areas of Afghanistan. No loss of life or property has been confirmed so far.

What to do in case of an earthquake?
Stay calm and do not panic.
If you are indoors, sit under a table or sturdy furniture.
Cover your head and neck with your hands.
If you are outside, stay in an open space – away from buildings, trees and electric poles.
Stay where you are until the earthquake stops.
Keep getting information from radio/TV after the earthquake.
What not to do in case of an earthquake?
Do not use the lift at all.
Do not stand near windows, mirrors or walls.
Do not suddenly run down the stairs, especially if you are on the upper floor.
In case of a gas leak, do not light a matchstick or candle.
Ignore rumours – trust only government information.
