In such a situation, Eid ul Azha i.e. Bakrid will be celebrated in India on the tenth day of the month of Zilhijja i.e. Monday, June 17, 2024. Along with India, Bakrid will also be celebrated in Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Brunei and Hong Kong on June 17.

At the same time, in countries like Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan, Syria and Iraq, Bakrid will be celebrated a day earlier i.e. on June 16, 2024.

Importance of Bakrid (Bakrid 2024 Importance)

The story of Prophet Hazrat Ibrahim is associated with the celebration of Bakrid festival. When Allah asked him for his most beloved thing in a dream, he decided to hand over his son to Allah as his most beloved thing. Prophet Hazrat Ibrahim sacrificed his son by blindfolding himself. But when the blindfold was removed, the son was safe and there was a goat in place of the sacrifice. That is why there is importance of sacrificing a goat on the day of Bakrid.

Sacrifice is made on the day of Bakrid. People wear new clothes, dishes are made, Bakrid Namaz is offered in the mosque and relatives come and go to the house.
