As the last period of Ramadan approaches, i.e. as the third Ashra begins, everyone starts preparing for Eid and as Ramadan passes, everyone eagerly waits for the moon of Eid.

Eid is the most important festival of the people of Muslim community. It is also known as Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-al-Fitr, Mithi Eid or Ramadan Eid. The festival of Eid marks the end of the month of Ramadan. Eid is celebrated as soon as the month of Ramadan ends. But the date of Eid is decided only after the sighting of the half moon. Let us know when the Eid moon will be seen in India this year and when Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in the country.

When will the Eid moon be visible in India?
Actually, the moon of Shawwal (10th month of Islamic calendar) is seen on different dates in different countries. In such a situation, the date of Eid may also differ in different countries. Talking about India, the 29th fast of Ramzan will be observed in India on 9th April. If the crescent moon is seen in the sky on this day, then Eid will be celebrated on the next day i.e. on 10th April and if the moon is not visible on the 29th fast, then after completing 30 fasts of Ramadan, Eid will be celebrated in India on 11th April.

Why is the moon seen before Eid?
The Islamic calendar is based on the Moon and all the festivals also depend on the Moon. According to Islamic Ruyat-e-Hilal (seeing the new moon), seeing the crescent moon is a religious process. A new month begins when the new moon is seen. After seeing this new moon on the last day of Ramadan, the month of Shawwal begins and then Eid is celebrated.

Every year, before the arrival of Eid, most people are anxious to know when will Eid take place this time? Will the month of Ramadan be of 29 days or 30 days?

These questions arise more in the minds of those who have to go to their homes from one city to another on the occasion of Eid. People associated with business are also very interested in when will Eid take place?

To know the answer to this question, first let us understand how the date of Eid is decided. The simple answer is that it depends on the speed of the moon.

When is Eid 2024 in India
Maulana Sameeruddin Kamsi, who lives in Manchester, England, estimates that this time Eid will be celebrated in India on April 11. In response to a question, he said that based on the speed of the moon, it can be said that the chances of seeing the moon in any part of India on April 9 are negligible.

On the basis of scientific data, he said that the age and height of the new moon on April 9 in India is not high enough to be seen with the naked eye.

How will it be decided whether the month of Ramadan will be of 29 or 30 days?
To understand the answer to this question, the movement and position of the moon will have to be understood scientifically. Let us look at the movement of the moon this year on a scientific basis and then find the answer as to which day the expectations of Eid are greater.

Before proceeding further, let us know some basic things. The Moon completes its revolution around the Earth in 27.322 days. During this period the position between the Moon and the Sun keeps changing.

For this reason, where the new moon appears lighter and continuously increases, it becomes fully visible in 14 days, which is called the moon of the 14th and after that the moon starts appearing less and on the next 14th day or 28th day, there is Amavasya i.e. the moon is not visible at all. Can’t see.

The moon starts appearing again on the 29th or 30th day.
See, this time the 29th Roza in India is being completed on Tuesday, 9th April. If we talk about Delhi, then after the new moon on April 9, the age of the new moon will be around 19 hours, while its height will be 9.6 degrees.

Scientists believe that to see the moon with open eyes, its age should be around 20 hours and its altitude should be 10 degrees. Since the age of the Moon in India is less than 20 hours and the altitude is also less than 10 degrees, it is estimated that the Moon was not visible to the naked eye on April 9 in India. Therefore Eid will be on 11th April.

In this picture it can be seen that on April 9, the height of the moon in Delhi will be 9.6 degrees and its age will be 0.79 days.
