Eight wagons of a goods train derailed between Lahabon and Simulthala stations in the Asansol division.

Jamui: Train services have been disrupted in Jamui, Bihar, following the derailment of a goods train. According to information provided by the CPRO, East Central Railway, eight wagons of a goods train derailed between Lahabon and Simultala stations in the Asansol division (Eastern Railway) at 11:25 PM on December 27, 2025.

This accident has disrupted train operations on both the up and down lines of the section. Upon receiving the information, Accident Relief Train (ART) teams from Asansol, Madhupur, and Jhajha were dispatched to the accident site, and restoration work is underway on a war footing.

According to reports, the wagons of the cement-laden goods train, which was traveling from Jasidih towards Jhajha, derailed near Telwa Bazar Halt in Jamui. This has disrupted train movement on the main line of the Howrah-Delhi route. Dense fog at night hampered the clearing of the tracks. Currently, work is underway to remove the derailed wagons and clear the route.
