Environment and Industry Minister in the Delhi government Manjinder Singh Sirsa shared the important financial provisions made in the budget in the House, there has also been talk of cracking down on the tanker mafia.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday presented a budget of Rs 1 lakh crore for the national capital. BJP, which has returned to power in Delhi after 27 years, has made several important financial provisions in the budget. On the other hand, Environment and Industry Minister in the Delhi government Manjinder Singh Sirsa shared these provisions in the House. He talked about cracking down on the tanker mafia.

Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that special attention will be given to cleaning the Yamuna river, improving water quality and waste water management in Delhi. The minister said, ‘Yamuna cleaning is our top priority. State-of-the-art treatment plants will be installed, there will be strict monitoring and it will be ensured that Delhiites get clean water and Yamuna is cleaned.’ There is a provision of Rs 9000 crore in the budget for improving the infrastructure of the drinking water system.

Announcement of Rs 506 crore for tree plantation
The minister in the Delhi government said that clean water and sanitation were also a major part of the budget, under which Rs 9,000 crore has been kept for strengthening Delhi’s drinking water system and upgrading the pipeline network. The minister said, ‘The tanker mafia which has been harassing people in Delhi for years will be curbed’. At the same time, a special provision of Rs 300 crore has been made under pollution control and emergency measures.

Apart from this, a special budget of Rs 506 crore was announced for tree plantation to improve the environment and make Delhi green. So that environmental reforms can be implemented strongly. In his address, the Environment Minister said that the Delhi government will form a Traders Welfare Board for the convenience of traders, which will make the licensing process easier, unnecessary delays will end and financial assistance will be given to MSME businessmen.

He said that ‘Atal Canteen Yojana’ will be started to provide cheap and nutritious food to the poor and needy people, for this a provision of Rs 100 crore has been made in the budget. At the same time, a budget of Rs 696 crore has been kept for the redevelopment of slum colonies, in which basic facilities like water supply, sanitation, electricity and housing will be improved.

Special package for education and skill development
The minister said in the House that education and skill development are also the priority of the government. He informed that a provision of Rs 200 crore has been made for Sports University and Skill University. Apart from this, Rs 100 crore has been kept for developing IT labs and 7,000 smart classrooms, which will promote digital education. A big step has also been taken in the field of health care in the budget.

Under the Ayushman Bharat scheme in the budget, arrangements have been made to provide free treatment up to Rs 10 lakh to every family in any good hospital in the country. The minister said, ‘No family should be deprived of treatment due to lack of money. Previous governments only made promises, we are turning it into reality.’ At the same time, a framework for industrial expansion, attracting global investment and creating lakhs of jobs has also been presented in the budget. Under this, a Global Investors Summit will be organized.
