Today, 50 years of Emergency have been completed in the country. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Emergency, BJP is going to celebrate it as ‘Samvidhan Hatya Diwas’. A special program will be held on the 50th anniversary of the Emergency at Thyagaraj Stadium in Delhi. During this, the Ministry of Culture will organize Constitution Hatya Diwas 2025, a dark chapter in the history of independence. Home Minister Amit Shah, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will participate in this program. Through this program, BJP will inform the new generation about the dark chapter of Emergency. It will also be told how the rights of the common people were taken away.

What programs will be held on the 50th anniversary of Emergency?

An exhibition based on Emergency will be held in Central Park, Connaught Place, Delhi from 10 am to 5 pm, in which MISA prisoners coming will be specially welcomed.

At the same time, in UP too, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Emergency, programs will be held across the state, the purpose of which is to give information about this dark chapter of democracy.

BJP leaders and workers will reach out to students and common citizens and organize programs. BJP’s Union Ministers, MPs, organization officials will participate in it.

CM Yogi Adityanath will address the program in Lucknow. At the same time, UP BJP State President Bhupendra Chaudhary will attend the program in Moradabad.

Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya will attend the Black Day program in Pratapgarh and Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak will attend the Black Day program in Barabanki.

The darkest period in the history of independent India

Let us tell you that just before midnight on 25 June 1975, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi imposed Emergency. The then President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed issued a proclamation on the advice of Gandhi, which was later approved by the Union Cabinet.

During this time many leaders, human rights activists and journalists were jailed and freedom of the press was also curbed. The Emergency, which was in force for 21 months, is considered the darkest period in the history of independent India.

What did Scindia say on Emergency?

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, while recalling the Emergency, indirectly targeted the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and said that the Congress leaders who “roam” around with a copy of the Constitution should “repent” every year on June 25. He said, “Congress tore apart the Constitution by taking dogmatic decisions like the Emergency, while today the BJP is working with commitment to protect the Constitution and democracy.”
