Farmers Protest: Section 144 has also been imposed in Ambala regarding the call of ‘Delhi March’ by farmers’ organizations on 13 February. SP Ambala Jashandeep Singh Randhawa said that Section 144 has been imposed in the district. Heavy barricading is being done by Ambala Police especially at Shambhu Toll Plaza for people coming from Punjab. Extra force has also been called. Mock drill is also being conducted in the presence of SP and other police officers. Besides, drones are also being used for surveillance. SP Ambala clearly says that no one will be allowed to take the law into their hands.
On the other hand, SP Jashnedeep Randhawa, who came to see the preparations for the mock drill, said that some farmer organizations have called for a march to Delhi on the 13th. The district administration and police administration have appealed to those organizations not to take the law into their hands by any means and protest peacefully.
Preparation to seal the border
SP Randhawa said that arrangements have been made to seal all the borders of Punjab. He said that if anyone wants to protest under Section 69 of the Haryana Police Act, he should first take permission. He said that even in the year 2020, when there was protest by some farmer organizations, there was huge damage to public property and police barricades were broken, in view of the same, adequate arrangements have been made.
Recovery will be made from those who damage public property
SP said that people did not have to face problems, hence routes have been diverted at many places. If there is any kind of loss of property then the compensation will be recovered from the protesting people. SP said that Ambala Police is fully prepared to deal with every situation. The protesters will also be monitored by drones. He said that if found violating Section 144, they will be identified and appropriate legal action will be taken.
