MP Baijayant Jai Panda shared a post on social media and said, ‘Halfway into our delegation’s tour, Ghulam Nabi Azad has had to be admitted to hospital. He is stable, under medical supervision, and will be undergoing some tests and procedures.’ Along with this, the MP also said, ‘His contribution in the meetings in Bahrain and Kuwait was highly impressive and he is disappointed to be bedridden. Ghulam Nabi Azad expressed gratitude

These people are included in the delegation
The delegation led by Baijayant Panda includes BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, BJP MP Phangnon Konyak, BJP MP Rekha Sharma, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MP Asaduddin Owaisi, BJP MP Satnam Singh Sandhu and Indian diplomat Harsh Shringla.

Visited Bahrain on 23 May and Kuwait on 25 May
Panda and 76-year-old Azad are among the seven multi-party delegations sent by India to different countries. The job of these delegations is to make the international community aware of India’s response to terrorism. The delegation visited Bahrain on 23 May and Kuwait on 25 May, where Azad participated in meetings with the leaders of both the countries.

‘Azad’s contribution in the meetings was very impressive’
Panda said that Azad’s contribution in the meetings held in Bahrain and Kuwait was very impressive, and he is disappointed with his illness. Panda, who arrived in the Saudi capital with the delegation on Tuesday, said, ‘We will miss his presence in Saudi Arabia and Algeria very much. During this visit, the delegation will interact with various political figures, government officials, thinkers and members of the Indian community.

Congress expressed concern over Azad’s health
Meanwhile, the Congress expressed concern over Azad’s hospitalization and wished him a speedy recovery. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh, without naming Azad, said on social media, ‘It is worrying to know that one of the members of the high-level delegation sent to strengthen India’s strategy against Pakistani terrorism has been hospitalized in Kuwait.’ Azad was in the Congress for a long time and left the Congress in 2022 to form his Democratic Progressive Azad Party.
