Garlic Price Hike: Once again inflation hits the food plates of common people, prices are on fire, retail price is Rs 600 per kg.

Jabalpur-Garlic Price Hike: Once again the food plates of common people were hit by inflation. These days the price of garlic is on fire. In Jabalpur district, the retail price of garlic has reached Rs 600 per kg. The situation has become such that now people have started shying away from buying garlic, because the prices of garlic are making new records every day. Along with this, garlic is also disappearing from the market. People are even saying that garlic has become more expensive than chicken.

Actually, buying garlic is no longer within the reach of the common man. Even in the market of Jabalpur, the prices of garlic are increasing daily. Traders say that while garlic is being sold at Rs 350 to Rs 400 per kg in wholesale rate, the price of garlic in the retail market has reached Rs 400 to Rs 600 per kg. Traders believe that further increase in garlic prices may be recorded. New garlic has not yet arrived in the market and the stock of old garlic is getting exhausted.

Because of this the market is being affected
In such a situation, only the old goods kept in stock are being sold in the garlic market. Retail trader Anurag Patel says that now customers are also buying garlic in less quantity, due to which the market is being affected. However, if we talk about last year, the price of garlic was only Rs 60 to Rs 80 per kg. But due to less crop this year, garlic prices have set a new record.

Because of this the prices of garlic are skyrocketing
Wholesaler Anurag Patel says that a major reason behind this is the low production of garlic. Actually, farmers had reduced the sowing of garlic crop this time. Garlic has been produced in very small quantities in the entire Mahakoshal region including Jabalpur. Garlic production has been seen only in areas like Chhindwara and Indore. Apart from this, the arrival of garlic from Rajasthan has also reduced. Because of this the prices of garlic are skyrocketing.

Kitchen budget spoiled
Meanwhile, Mohan Thakur, who reached the vegetable market, says that this time the price of garlic has become double that of chicken. In such a situation, it is not within the reach of common people to buy garlic. Bhanu Chaudhary said that garlic is being sold at the price of dry fruits, which has spoiled the kitchen budget. He said that the government and administration should also take some action regarding rising prices.
