Rajasthan: A big news has come out about senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Girija Vyas. Former Union Minister Girija Vyas has been burnt after her saree caught fire. The fire broke out in her saree from the flame of the lamp during the worship of Gavarja Mata on Monday morning. She has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Former Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot has expressed grief over the accident and wished her a speedy recovery.
According to news agency PTI, former Union Minister Girija Vyas was performing aarti at her home in Udaipur city of Rajasthan on Monday, when suddenly her clothes caught fire and she got burnt. Family members gave this information.
Girija Vyas (79) was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Udaipur, where she was given first aid and later referred to Ahmedabad for further treatment.

Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly Tikaram Julie has wished the former minister a speedy recovery. He wrote on Instagram, “The news of former Union Minister, senior Congress leader Mrs. Girija Vyas ji getting burnt by fire while performing Gangaur Puja is worrying. I pray to Almighty God for the speedy recovery of Girija Vyas ji.”
The leaders have wished her a speedy recovery. Regarding the matter, her brother Gopal Sharma said that Girija Vyas was performing aarti, during which her dupatta caught fire from the lamp placed below. Family members took her to the hospital.
Let us tell you that Congress veteran Girija Vyas has worked as a minister in both the state and central governments. She has also been the Congress State President and Chairperson of the National Women’s Commission.
