North Goa Police has registered a case against Abu Farhan Azmi, son of Maharashtra’s Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Asim Azmi, and other persons for quarreling in a public place and disturbing peace. This incident has come to light at a time when MLA Abu Azmi himself is facing FIRs and criticism in Maharashtra for his statement praising Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

According to Goa Police, at around 11:30 pm on Monday night, the police control room received information about a fight near a supermarket in Candolim North Goa. During this, Abu Farhan Azmi told the local boys that he was carrying a valid licensed weapon. When the police arrived, both the groups were brought to the Calangute police station. But both the parties refused to register a complaint. The police wanted to take both the parties to the District Hospital Mapusa for their medical checkup, but both the parties did not go.

Police registered a case
Abu Farhan Azmi presented a valid gun license and permission to carry weapons in Goa to the police. Kalangut police recorded the statements of all the accused on Tuesday morning. Due to quarreling, disturbing peace and dispute in a public place, police sub-inspector Paresh Sinari took cognizance and filed a complaint. Abu Azmi in trouble for praising Aurangzeb

Meanwhile, in Mumbai, Farhan’s father MLA Abu Azmi had given a statement about Aurangzeb on Monday itself. In his statement, he refused to accept Aurangzeb as a cruel ruler. The SP leader said that India was a “golden bird” during his reign and he had built many temples. After this statement, political controversy has increased in Maharashtra, and Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) MP Naresh Mhaske has filed an FIR against him. UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya also targeted the Samajwadi Party and said that the spirit of Aurangzeb has entered the party.

After Abu Azmi’s statement, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) spokesperson Kiran Pawaskar has filed a complaint against him in Mumbai. In which a demand has been made to register a case of treason. This issue was also raised in the Maharashtra Assembly.
