Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to Gujarat before the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Prime Minister Modi will give a gift worth crores of rupees to Gujarat today. PM Modi will attend two programs to be held in Devbhoomi Dwarka and Rajkot districts of Saurashtra region on Sunday. This morning, PM Modi dedicated to the nation the country’s longest cable-stayed bridge ‘Sudarshan Setu’ built on the Arabian Sea. PM Modi performed puja and darshan at Bayt Dwarka temple at 7:45 am on Sunday (February 25).
PM Modi visited Sudarshan Setu at 8:25 am.
PM went to Dwarkadhish temple at 9.30 am.
At around 1 pm, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several projects worth more than Rs 4150 crore in Dwarka.
At 3:30 PM Modi will go to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rajkot.
Will inaugurate various projects worth more than Rs 48,100 crore at the Race Course ground in Rajkot at 4:30 pm.
Specialty of Sudarshan Bridge
Will dedicate to the nation the Sudarshan Setu connecting Okha mainland and Bayt Dwarka island, built at a cost of about Rs 980 crore, at a public ceremony held in Dwarka. It is the longest cable bridge in the country at approximately 2.32 kilometers.
The design of Sudarshan Setu is unique, with a walkway decorated with verses from the Srimad Bhagavad Gita and images of Lord Krishna on both sides. Solar panels have also been installed on the upper part of this walkway, from which one megawatt of electricity is produced.

What is the specialty of Sudarshan Bridge?
This bridge is India’s longest cable support bridge, with solar panels installed on the upper part of its footpath. These solar panels will generate 1 MW electricity. The foundation stone of this bridge was laid by the PM in October 2017. This bridge is four-lane and 2.50 meter wide footpaths have been made on both its sides. This bridge is quite beautiful and attractive to look at, which will be the center of attraction among all the visiting tourists. Magnificent artwork will be seen on the bridge. Sudarshan Bridge is dedicated to Lord Krishna, its footpath is decorated with verses from the Bhagavad Gita and images of Lord Shri Krishna.
Also known as Signature Bridge
According to the report, the PM will first visit and worship Shri Bet Dwarkadhish Temple in the morning of 25th February, after which he will visit Sudarshan Setu. This bridge is also known as Signature Bridge. After the opening of this bridge, it will become much easier for the people to go to Bet Dwarkadhish Temple because earlier people had to take the help of boat to go to Bet Dwarkadhish Temple. Before the inauguration of this bridge, PM posted on his social media account X in which he wrote that tomorrow is a special day for the development path of Gujarat. Among the many projects being inaugurated is the Sudarshan Bridge connecting Okha mainland and Bet Dwarka. This is an amazing project which will increase connectivity.
