A heartbreaking news has emerged from Gurugram, Haryana. A 28-year-old software engineer committed suicide by hanging himself. This sent shockwaves through the entire area. Police were immediately informed. The body was taken into custody and sent for a post-mortem examination. The deceased’s name was Shubham Meena. He had a love marriage with a Delhi woman just six months earlier.
Shubham lived near Mata Colony in the Nayagaon area of Bhondsi. He was originally from Alwar, Rajasthan. According to reports, Shubham worked as a software engineer for a multinational company with a salary of ₹20 lakh per annum. No suicide note was found at the scene. However, initial investigations revealed that Shubham had been suffering from depression for the past few months and was undergoing treatment. The question on people’s minds is: why did Shubham take such a drastic step?
Police investigations revealed that Shubham had married a Delhi woman in love in May of this year. His wife also works at an MNC and is pursuing higher education. Due to work-from-home arrangements, he was working from home most of the time.
Wife screams upon seeing the body
According to reports, Shubham was at home with his wife on Tuesday afternoon. His wife was busy with chores. Shubham left the room in front of her and did not return. After a considerable delay, his wife began searching for him. When she found him on the second floor, she screamed. Shubham had made a noose from a window and was hanging from it.
Taking medication for depression
An investigating officer stated that preliminary investigations revealed that Shubham had been suffering from depression for some time. He was undergoing treatment and regularly taking medication. The investigation also revealed that Shubham had attempted suicide before. However, the police have not confirmed this. Police have recorded statements from his family and wife. Police say that Shubham’s mobile phone will also be investigated.
