Haryana: 1562 candidates filed nomination papers for assembly elections, voting on October 5

Voting for Haryana Assembly elections will be held on October 5. For this, 1562 candidates have filed nomination papers, which include candidates from various parties and independent candidates. This information was given by Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Pankaj Aggarwal on Friday. Talking about the election process, he said that the last date for filing nominations was September 12. The nomination papers were scrutinized on Friday and candidates can withdraw their nominations till September 16.

The maximum number of candidates are trying their luck from Bhiwani seat. 31 candidates have filed nominations from here, while the least number of 9 candidates have filed nominations from Nangla Chaudhary seat.

Status of VIP seats

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is contesting from Ladwa assembly seat of Kurukshetra, a total of 24 candidates are in the fray from here. Wrestler Binesh Phogat is contesting on a Congress ticket from Julana seat in Jind district, 16 candidates have filed nominations from here. Jannayak Janata Party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala has filed nomination from Uchana Kalan. A total of 30 candidates are contesting from here. Former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda is contesting from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi in Rohtak district, a total of 12 candidates are in the fray from here. INLD leader Abhay Chautala is contesting from Ellenabad in Sirsa district, a total of 14 candidates have filed nominations from here.

Final list after September 16

The number of candidates on many seats may decrease as the last date for withdrawal of nominations is till September 16. Therefore, it is expected that some candidates may withdraw from the electoral fray. After this the final list of candidates will be released.

The ruling BJP is trying to return to power for the third time, while the opposition party Congress is fighting the elections with full force to return to power this time. Among other opposition parties, Aam Aadmi Party, JJP-Azad Samaj Party and INLD-BSP are contesting the elections.
