The number of diabetes patients in India is increasing faster than other countries. The biggest reason for this is the deteriorating lifestyle of the people and lack of physical activity. In diabetes, insulin is produced less due to which people’s heart, eyes and kidneys are adversely affected. According to a research, the risk of diabetes has increased rapidly among 12-18 percent of the youth of India. You will be surprised to know but these figures are seen more in urban areas. At the same time, according to a report released by the World Health Organization (WHO), by the year 2030, diabetes can become the 7th largest and most dangerous disease in the country and the world. In diabetes, control over eating and drinking is most important. This disease cannot be completely eradicated. Blood sugar can be controlled only by following a good diet. Let us tell you what kind of diet you should follow to control it.

Try these diet plans to control diabetes:

  • Eat fenugreek powder after waking up in the morning: To control diabetes, eat 1 teaspoon fenugreek powder every day first thing in the morning.
  • Drink juice of these things before breakfast: Before breakfast, drink juice of vegetables like cucumber, bitter gourd, tomato.
  • Eat healthy things in breakfast: Diabetic patients should eat healthy things in their breakfast. Like consumption of sprouts, porridge, milk, brown bread can be beneficial.
  • Eat fruits before lunch: Diabetic patients should eat some fruits before having lunch. You should consume such fruits which have moderate amount of sugar. Like- guava, apple, orange, papaya
  • Eat these things in lunch: Blood sugar patients should eat two rotis, rice, pulses, vegetables, curd and salad in their lunch. Among vegetables, you should consume bottle gourd, green leafy vegetables, eggs and fatty fish.
  • Drink water one hour after eating: Drink water only one hour after eating. Keep in mind that you should not drink cold water but only lukewarm water.
  • Evening snack: Green tea, baked snacks: To prevent blood sugar from rising, you must include green tea in your evening snack.
  • Dinner at 6 pm: Having dinner between 6 to 7 pm is beneficial for your health, it controls blood sugar. In the evening dinner, take two rotis, one bowl of vegetable and one glass of turmeric milk.
