German cyclist detained in Iran

In another news, Iran has admitted for the first time that it has detained a German cyclist on charges of espionage. Iran’s Mehr News Agency reported that the arrest took place in Markazi province, where Iran’s Arak heavy water reactor is located. According to German news agency DPA, the arrest took place last year. Iran’s move is probably an attempt to put pressure on Germany, as Germany is among the countries that are participating in diplomatic talks with Iran.
